UMKC POLISCI-210

Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.
Section 3. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by conventions in the several States, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the States by the Congress

This amendment nullified the 18th amendment's ban on drinking alcohol however trade of alcohol that violates the laws set by the States themselves on alcohol. The amendment will be void if not ratified within the 7 year period of activity from submission to deletion.

Look at the excitement in that headline. When the 18th amendment was repealed due to the higher crime rate and mafia involvement, the 21 amendment came into being with alcohol being a legal drinking substance again, you'd have thought it was the second coming of Christ (oh the irony) out of the result of excitement and titillation from the US citizens. This was also a political move because the ones that repealed the 18th amendment and brought forth the 21 are going to be held in such high esteem by the citizens that any nearing election, the person is essentially promised the majority vote. It's all politics, even when covering their butts.

Effects of alcohol. Based on the information given here (true/untrue or facts backed up) Like tobacco use, it may be legal by constitutional rights, but alcohol is still bad for a person's body. There are adverse effects really to any consumption but because we can, we do. And because we can't makes us push to do it more (teenagers drinking instead of waiting until the age of 21). The feeling of stress relief and euphoria however trump those adverse effects in the minds of so many. So then should alcohol just not have been created in the first place and then this problem would never have occured.
